"Sex" will sparkle tonight in New York City

The highly-anticipated stateside premiere of "Sex and The City" is happening tonight at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, and will be followed by a bash in the sculpture garden at the Museum of Modern Art.

No doubt it will be stylish and star-studded, but it is also going to be a sparkle-fest.  Literally.

Swarovski is the official decor partner for the event, and is using hundreds of thousands of crystals to create a "Sex"y ambiance.

More than 10,000 crystals were used for the pink carpet (no red here!) that premiere-goers will walk on their way into Radio City.

Swarovski will also sparkle on the big screen. Three signature creations are featured in the film including the Nirvana ring, the Kiosque bag (buy your own now!) and the Era bag.  Swarovski elements are also featured on Carrie’s cell phone, wedding veil and wedding parasol.

At the after party, guests will be greeted by a chandelier comprised of over a thousand pink and green crystals; 500-plus crystal heart ornaments adorning the trees in the garden...

...a crystal curtain (roughly 12 ft high and 8 ft wide) with 160 stands of crystal and a total of 7,240 crystals; and more than 30 crystal lanterns will be used to adorn the tables.

"Sex and The  City" logos made entirely of Swarovski crystals will adorn the serving trays; fuchsia  Swarovski crystals will adorn the DJ booth; and giant Kiosque Bag sculptures will be displayed on the bars.

Leave it to the "SATS" gals to arrive in style...

Thank you, Style Spy, for helping me step into the "sparkle-fest' of the premier of "Sex in The City". Here in my hometown far away from the pulsating excitement of NYC, I was spellbound. I loved learning of one bejeweled creation after another. I WELCOME HAVING THE GLAMOUR OF OLD HOLLYWOOD RESURRECTED!!!

I was fortunate enough to have attended the 75th Anniversary Show of Radio City Music Hall in 2007. I know what a Swarovski-decor does to the senses. My breath was taken away as I entered RCMH lobby and saw, suspended from the ceiling, the spectacular glitter of a 35-ft.-high, Swarovski Christmas Tree. I have since learned it contained 3000 pounds of Swarovski crystals at a cost of one million dollars!

My hope is that all the lucky guests of the "SEX" Premier with its MOMA party appreciated being bedazzled by Swarovski.

Hello Style-spy,
Once again you have it crystal clear. You are showing the ultimate style out there in "style land". The comfort of the crystal covered sofa has nothing to do with the concept of the fashion pizazz that it emotes. You are THE fashion GURU and your blog continues to be FANTABULOUS!

That purse is unbelievable!! I want it. But how do you sit on the crystal couch? Isn't it kind of uncomfortable?

While the set-up sounds fabulous, how comfortable can a crystal couch be? Methinks not very. Check out stylebayarea.com, I'd be willing to bet you'll find something fabulous!
