Your Backstage Pass to Betsey Johnson's Pre-Show Party

Betsey Johnson is the pop-culture princess of New York Fashion Week...not to mention the fashion industry's fountain of youth.  I stopped by the celebration -- and spoke to some celebs -- just 10 minutes before Betsey's Spring 2009 runway show...

As always, Betsey ended her show with a running runway cartwheel...she admits she always practices the morning of the show.  Pretty impressive for a grandmother of two !

Style Spy sends a huge XOXO to Betsey Johnson!  SMOOCH!

It's a talented interviewer, the likes of Barbara Walters, whose questions and demeanor provide a listening ear for a candid and revealing answer.

Style Spy, you did just that with Michael Kors and now......Betsey Johnson! BJ revealed to your listening ear the inspiration for her LITTLE BO PEEP FASHION surrounded by
...BALLOONS...LOLLIPOPS...CARTWHEELS...CUPCAKES...
BRIGHT COLORS...and FUN! FUN! FUN!
Her inspiration....a long ago read quote:
"Never lose your childhood enthusiasm!"

Fancy turns of phrase; diggin' the alliteration; and technically sound with the hyphen. Tangentially... I want to wear a skirt, they look comfortable. I was thinking on my next job I could just set a precedent day one -- look, I'm gonna be that guy that wears "kilts," deal with it. Can you wag the dog on the whole mainstreaming process?

What a happy interview! I am not familiar with Betsey Johnson but you certainly gave me a welcome education of who she is. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
